About Smarty Crafts

The Smarty Crafts Story

When Sharon left her job as a marketing director to stay home with Kiley, she pictured all the wonderful experiences they would share. But she soon realized they were doing the same play activities all the time: coloring books, Play-Doh, and finger paint. They needed a creative boost.

After months of reading parenting sites and magazines, Sharon was simply overwhelmed by all the ideas and suggestions out there.

Luckily her sister-in-law and fellow mom, Lenka, was a former elementary school teacher. Sheʼd been doing crafts with her sons as a way to teach them in new and creative ways. Lenka felt good knowing how much Toben and Benet were learning--even though all they thought they were doing was having fun.

Since she always had lots of extra supplies, Lenka started putting together simple activity kits to give to other moms. After Sharon received her kit in the mail, she immediately called Lenka. And Smarty Crafts was born.

A Word from a Childhood Development Specialist

“Parents play a vital role in helping their children learn. They can give kids limitless opportunities simply by making learning fun and a regular part of their daily activities. Positive, hands-on involvement in early childhood is one of the best ways parents can show their kids that learning and fun go hand-in-hand.”
